Kilt Hose

These were a commission for my son. He was given
a new kilt with dark greens and blacks. I found this yarn
in Leadville, CO. It's a super wash, so perfect for nice warm legs.
I've finished and shipped them off, so now I can brag a little. I found the

pattern in Marta Poling's "A Collection of Small Knitting Projects" on
Ravelry.

What's on your needles?

A small but satisfying project.

This hat was designed by Hitomi Shida.  Gayle Roehm taught the techniques a knitting camp in Colorado Springs last year.  The pattern is in her wonderful book called Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible that includes 260 exquisite patterns by Hitomi Shida, which Gayle translated into English.  It is available on Amazon, and very inspiring.   The best new technique I learned is how to do a 2 stitch cable without using a cable needle.  Very satisfying.  Thanks, Gayle!

More projects will be added after Christmas.  They're all presents!
